Pet Cremation Service
The memorial ceremony before cremating pets is performed in the main hall of the temple. Pets are cleaned and placed in the coffin. The memorial procedure includes:
– Preparing flowers, joss paper, white gauze, perfume and place them in the coffin with the pet’s body
– Burning soapberry to dispel negative energy
– Lighting candles, preparing a memorial tablet with a bowl of rice and an egg
– The owner will go to offer incense at the altars and offer incense for the pet.
– Ringing the bell to request the start of the encoffining ceremony.
After completing the encoffining ceremony, the owner and the temple staff will take the pet to the Universal Cremation Station for cremation. In particular, the dog Co Lai will accompany the hearse to see them off on their final journey.
The cremation usually takes about 1-2 hours. Your family can wait and witness the entire cremation process. The pet’s ashes will be placed in an urn and delivered to the owner.
